Park Kyung-seo, head of the International Trade Division of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "Vietnam is a core ASEAN market with high growth potential and marketability. We will strengthen support such as buyer linkage and follow-up consulting so that consultation results can lead to actual export contracts." Gyeonggi Province announced on the 9th that it achieved $7.55 million in consultation value and $6.42 million in contracted expected value through a total of 184 export consultations at the '2026 K-Med Expo & SAIGON Int'l Meditech Show' in Vietnam. The exhibition, held from the 4th to the 6th at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC) in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, was attended by 20 companies from the province in the fields of infection prevention, diagnosis/testing, surgery/rehabilitation, beauty/healthcare, and health products. Co-hosted by KINTEX, the Korea Medical Devices Industry Association, and the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service, the specialized medical device exhibition brought together buyers in the medical and healthcare fields from Vietnam and the ASEAN region.

Gyeonggi Province operated the Gyeonggi Pavilion to support the deployment of dedicated interpreters for each company, pre-exhibition marketing training, provision of market information, and arrangement of buyer consultations. The province plans to continue follow-up management, such as buyer linkage and export consulting, even after the end of the exhibition.

C&S Medical, located in Pocheon, introduced general-purpose electrosurgical devices based on minimally invasive surgical technology, drawing interest from Vietnamese buyers. Following an initial export contract worth $300,000 signed through last year's K-MED Hanoi exhibition, the company signed an additional supply contract worth $1 million at this exhibition. A signing ceremony was also held on-site with representatives from both companies in attendance.

RP, based in Seongnam, presented 'ECG Buddy,' a medical solution that analyzes electrocardiogram (ECG) data with artificial intelligence (AI), attracting attention from local medical institutions and healthcare companies. During the exhibition, pilot implementation and system linkage methods were discussed, and consultations for a supply contract are underway, raising expectations for subsequent results.

K-medical devices, a strategic export item of Gyeonggi Province, is a sector that continues to see an increase in exports every year, driven by the growth of the global biohealth industry and expanding demand for medical and beauty care. According to the Korea Health Industry Development Institute, exports of the K-biohealth industry (medical devices, biopharmaceuticals, and cosmetics) are projected to surpass $30 billion for the first time in history in 2026.

Among them, the Vietnamese medical device market is growing steadily due to the expansion of medical infrastructure and increasing demand for healthcare, and is evaluated as a market with high potential for domestic companies as it relies on imports for about 90% of medical devices. Gyeonggi Province plans to solidify various support systems to pioneer roads for promising medical device businesses in the province based on the results of the exhibition.
