[전남광주/CTN]최영준 기자= 권윤숙 전남광주통합특별시 청년정책과장은 "청년 갭이어는 정해진 길을 따라가는 것이 아니라 스스로 자신의 길을 찾아가는 과정이다"라며 "참여 청년들이 이번 경험을 바탕으로 진로를 구체화하고 새로운 도전을 이어가기를 기대하며 앞으로도 청년 눈높이에 맞는 정책을 지속 발굴하겠다"라고 말했다.

전남광주통합특별시는 9월 8일 광주청사 무등홀에서 청년 갭이어 참여자들의 활동 성과와 경험을 공유하는 '2026 청년갭이어 성과공유회'를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

청년 갭이어는 학업과 취업 과정에서 잠시 멈춰 서서 진로와 삶의 방향을 탐색하고 새로운 도전을 할 수 있도록 지원하는 청년 정책이다.

올해 프로그램에는 광주 지역 미취업 청년 30명이 참여해 약 30일간 광주 외 국내 다른 지역에 머물며 직접 기획한 진로 및 사회 탐색 활동을 추진했다.

참여자들은 전시 기획과 인공지능 개발, 크리에이터 활동 등 다양한 분야에서 창업지원기관과 기업, 사회적경제기업 등을 직접 방문해 실무 정보를 수집했다.

통합특별시는 참여 청년들의 계획이 원활히 실행될 수 있도록 개인별 역량과 목표에 맞춘 멘토링을 강화하고 디지털 콘텐츠와 스타트업 등으로 활동 영역을 넓혔다.

전남광주통합특별시는 청년들이 스스로 진로 방향을 발견할 수 있도록 맞춤형 지원 정책을 지속 강화할 방침이라고 밝혔다.

Division Head Kwon added, "We expect participants to materialize their career path based on this experience, and we will continue to discover tailored policies."

Jeonnam-Gwangju Unified Special City announced on September 8 that it held the '2026 Youth Gap Year Achievement Sharing Meeting' at the Mudeung Hall in the Gwangju City Hall.

The youth gap year is a support program designed to allow unemployed youth to take a pause from education or job hunting to explore future goals.

This year, 30 unemployed young residents in Gwangju participated in a 30-day program, staying outside Gwangju to execute self-planned career exploration initiatives.

Participants visited startup hubs and social enterprises across fields including AI development, exhibition planning, and content creation to gain practical industry insights.

The city administration stated it will continue expanding mentorship programs and customized support to help young adults navigate future career paths.
