양 단체는 지난 4월 9일, 캄보디아 시엠립주 벙찻 지역에 위치한 '벙찻서산마을 망고농장'의 효율적 운영과 중학교 설립 자금 조달을 골자로 하는 임대차 합의서를 체결했다고 밝혔다.
이번 합의의 핵심은 농장 운영을 통한 수익을 현지 교육 인프라 구축에 환원하는 데 있다.
합의서에 따르면, 임대인인 '러브인캄코(갑)'는 임차인인 '캄보프렌드(을)'에게 2026년 4월 9일부터 2031년 4월 8일까지 총 5년간 망고농장을 일괄 임대한다.
특히 주목할 점은 임대 조건이다. '러브인캄코'는 보증금과 연간 임대료를 전액 면제하는 대신, 농장에서 발생하는 수익의 55%를 '러브인캄코'가 추진 중인 캄보디아 중학교 설립 자금으로 공여받기로 했다.
또 러브인캄코 등 한국 자원봉사자들이 원할 경우 망고 농장 출입을 허용키로 협의했다.

양측은 신의성실의 원칙에 따라 상호 비방을 금지하고, 정보 공유를 원칙으로 하며 분쟁 발생 시 원만한 협의를 거칠 것을 약속했다.
러브인캄코 가금현 회장은 “이번 합의를 통해 벙찻서산마을 망고농장이 단순한 생산 시설을 넘어 캄보디아 아이들의 미래를 여는 교육의 터전이 될 것”이라며 기대감을 드러냈다.
캄보프렌드 김상수 의장 또한 “효율적이고 생산적인 농장 운영을 통해 중학교 설립이라는 고귀한 목표에 적극 기여하겠다”고 밝혔다.
이번 협약은 일회성 원조에서 벗어나 현지의 자원을 활용해 지속 가능한 자금을 확보하고, 이를 교육 사업에 재투자한다는 점에서 민간 국제 봉사 활동의 모범 사례가 될 것으로 보인다.

On April 9, both organizations announced the signing of a lease agreement for the ‘Bung Chat Seosan Village Mango Farm’ located in the Bung Chat area of Siem Reap Province, Cambodia. The agreement focuses on the efficient management of the farm and the raising of funds for the establishment of a local middle school.
■ Turning Mango Farm Profits into Schools
The core of this agreement lies in returning profits from farm operations to the local community by building educational infrastructure. According to the agreement, the lessor, ‘Love in Kamco’ (Party A), will lease the mango farm to the lessee, ‘Cambofriend’ (Party B), for a total of five years, from April 9, 2026, to April 8, 2031.
A particularly noteworthy aspect of the lease is the terms. ‘Love in Kamco’ has agreed to waive all security deposits and annual rent. In exchange, 55% of the profits generated from the farm will be contributed to the fund for the Cambodian middle school project spearheaded by ‘Love in Kamco.’ Additionally, both parties agreed to allow access to the mango farm for Korean volunteers from ‘Love in Kamco’ and other groups upon request.
This initiative is being praised for creating a virtuous cycle where agricultural production directly leads to educational welfare, moving beyond a simple leasing arrangement.
■ Commitment to Transparent Management and Mutual Cooperation
The agreement includes specific clauses to ensure the farm’s efficient operation. As the lessee, ‘Cambofriend’ is responsible for the diligent management of the farm and must share business performance reports with ‘Love in Kamco’ at least twice a year. Furthermore, ‘Cambofriend’ will bear all operational costs and expenses related to the farm projects to establish a self-sustaining business model.
Both parties have pledged to adhere to the principle of good faith, prohibiting mutual slander, prioritizing information sharing, and resolving any disputes through amicable consultation.
Ka Keum-hyun, Chairman of Love in Kamco, expressed his high expectations, stating, “Through this agreement, the Bung Chat Seosan Village Mango Farm will transcend being a mere production facility to become a foundation for education that opens up the future for Cambodian children.”
Kim Sang-soo, Chairman of the Board of Cambofriend, also remarked, “We will actively contribute to the noble goal of establishing a middle school through efficient and productive farm management.”
This agreement is seen as a benchmark for international private-sector volunteerism, as it moves away from one-time aid and instead utilizes local resources to secure sustainable funding for reinvestment in educational projects.
