지난 5월 6일, 서령고등학교 송파수련관에서 거행된 '서령학원 설립 70주년 기념식'에는 내외 귀빈과 교직원, 동문 및 재학생들이 참석한 가운데, 지난 7세대의 발자취를 돌아보고 미래 100년을 향한 비전을 선포하는 시간을 가졌다.
심관수 이사장은 기념사를 통해 '서령'이라는 이름에 담긴 창학 정신을 재확인했다.
심 이사장은 "상서롭고 편안하다는 이름처럼, 지난 70년은 학생들이 마음껏 꿈의 지평을 넓힐 수 있는 든든한 울타리가 되어온 시간이었다"며, "1956년 개교 이래 배출된 32,000여 명의 졸업생이 사회 각계각층에서 서령의 가치를 증명하고 있다"고 자부심을 표했다.
이날 행사의 백미는 서령의 역사를 몸소 일궈온 장기 근속 교직원들에 대한 공로패 수여식이었다.
30년간 오직 제자 사랑의 일념으로 교단을 지켜온 스승들의 성함이 호명될 때마다 객석에서는 존경의 박수가 터져 나왔다.
이들의 헌신은 단순한 지식 전달을 넘어 서령학원을 명문 사학으로 뿌리 내리게 한 가장 큰 자산임을 다시 한번 확인시켜 주었다.
기념식은 서령중학교 학생들의 역동적인 댄스와 본교 재학생인 ‘트롯 천재’ 임도형 군의 품격 있는 무대로 열기를 더했다.
특히 동문들이 준비한 플루트와 피아노 앙상블 공연은 세대를 초월한 서령인의 유대감을 보여주며 깊은 감동을 선사했다.
행사는 참석자 전원이 제창한 교가와 함께 마무리되었으며, 이어진 만찬에서는 서령의 앞날을 축복하는 정겨운 대화가 이어졌다.
서령학원의 70년은 단순한 세월의 흐름이 아닌, 수많은 인재의 꿈이 결실을 본 찬란한 기록이다.
일흔 해의 단단한 토대를 딛고, 이제 서령은 세상을 밝히는 등불이 될 인재들을 품고 '백 년의 미래'를 향한 당당한 비상을 시작했다.
한편 대한민국 대표 인터넷신문 CTN의 가금현 대표이사도 서령고 28회 출신이다.

On May 6th, the "70th Anniversary Ceremony of Seoryeong Academy" was held at the Songpa Training Center of Seoryeong High School. Distinguished guests, faculty, alumni, and current students gathered to reflect on the footsteps of the past seven decades and to proclaim a vision for the next 100 years.
In his commemorative speech, Chairman Kwan-soo Shim reaffirmed the founding spirit embedded in the name 'Seoryeong.'
"True to its name, which signifies being 'auspicious and comfortable,' the past 70 years have been a time of serving as a sturdy fence where students could freely expand the horizons of their dreams," Chairman Shim stated with pride. "Since our opening in 1956, over 32,000 graduates have been proving the value of Seoryeong across all sectors of society."
The highlight of the event was the presentation of plaques of merit to long-serving faculty members who have personally shaped Seoryeong's history. Whenever the names of teachers who have dedicated 30 years to the single-minded love of their students were called, the audience erupted in applause of respect. Their dedication reaffirmed that beyond simple knowledge transfer, their commitment is the greatest asset that has allowed Seoryeong Academy to take root as a prestigious private institution.
The ceremony gained momentum with dynamic dance performances by Seoryeong Middle School students and a high-class stage by "Trot Genius" Do-hyung Lim, a current student of the school. In particular, the flute and piano ensemble prepared by alumni touched many hearts, showcasing a bond between Seoryeong individuals that transcends generations.
The event concluded with all attendees singing the school song in unison, followed by a banquet filled with warm conversations blessing the future of Seoryeong.
The 70 years of Seoryeong Academy are not merely the passage of time, but a brilliant record of the dreams of countless talents coming to fruition. Standing on a solid 70-year foundation, Seoryeong has now begun its majestic flight toward a "Centennial Future," embracing the talents who will become lights to illuminate the world.
Meanwhile, Keum-hyeon Ga, the CEO of CTN—a leading internet newspaper in South Korea—is also an alumnus of Seoryeong High School (28th Graduating Class).
