[정치/CTN]가금현 기자 = 시민유권자운동본부가 오성환 당진시장 후보를 6·1 지방선거 ‘좋은 후보’로 선정하고 인증서를 전달했다.
시민유권자운동본부 관계자들은 지난 26일 오성환 당진시장 후보의 선거사무실을 직접 방문해 인증서를 전달하며, 정책 중심의 선거문화 정착과 시민 참여 확대의 중요성을 거듭 강조했다.
전국 500여 개 시민단체로 구성된 시민유권자운동본부는 후보자의 △정책 비전 △도덕성 △지역사회 기여도 △시민 소통 역량 등을 종합적으로 평가해 이번 지방선거의 ‘좋은 후보’를 선정한 것으로 알려졌다.
인증서를 전달받은 오성환 후보는 “시민사회가 선정한 ‘좋은 후보’라는 타이틀을 무거운 책임감으로 받아들인다”라며 “시민들과의 약속을 끝까지 이행하고, 당진의 미래 경쟁력을 높이는 데 최선을 다하겠다”고 소감을 밝혔다.
이어 오 후보는 “앞으로의 4년은 당진 발전의 완성과 새로운 번영을 이루어야 하는 중차대한 시기”라며 “시민들이 삶에서 직접 체감할 수 있는 실질적인 변화와 성과를 반드시 만들어내겠다”고 강조했다.
한편, 시민유권자운동본부는 전국 각 지역의 시민사회단체가 참여하는 연대기구로, 정책 중심의 깨끗한 선거문화 정착과 올바른 유권자 운동 확산을 위한 다양한 활동을 전개하고 있다.
