이번 금융 교육의 가장 큰 맹점은 대구시가 자랑하는 '금융사기 예방과 모바일 활용 역량 향상'이 실제 날로 지능화되는 메신저 피싱이나 악성 앱 구동 등 실시간 범죄 위협을 원천 차단하기에는 턱없이 부족한 '사후약방문식 말 잔치'에 머물러 있다는 점이다. 강의실에서 몇 시간 동안 사기 사례를 듣고 모바일뱅킹 화면을 조작해 보는 이벤트가 과연 기습적인 자산 탈취 상황 속에서 어르신들을 보호하는 실효성 있는 대책인지 의문이다. 진정으로 고령층의 자산을 지키고 디지털 안전망을 구축하고자 했다면, 일회성 아카데미 개최에 행정력을 소진할 것이 아니라 관내 노인복지시설 전체를 대상으로 금융사기 전문 지킴이 인력을 상설 배치하거나, 지역 금융권과 연계해 고령자 전용 이상거래탐지시스템(FDS) 및 피해 대출 원스톱 보상 보험 제도를 다원화하는 구조적 인프라 개선이 선행되어야 했다. 이러한 근본적인 예방책 마련은 생략한 채, 수강생의 긍정적인 소감 한마디를 앞세워 치적을 포장하려는 행태는 실적 조급증이 낳은 성과주의 껍데기일 뿐이다.
