충청남도교육청학생교육문화원은 오는 18일부터 19일까지 양일간 도내 유치원 및 초등학교 저학년 학생들을 대상으로 오케스트라 극 조금은 특별한 피노키오를 대공연장 무대에 올린다. 이번 공연은 2026년 가슴뭉클 명품 기획공연의 일환으로, 국내 유일의 단일 시각장애인 음악인들로 구성된 한빛예술단이 선보이는 고품격 어린이 음악극이다. 특히 이번 무대는 예매 시작과 동시에 양일간 총 934석의 전 좌석이 매진되는 기염을 토하며 지역 교육 현장의 폭발적인 관심을 입증했다.
공연은 마법의 마을에 살고 있는 피노키오가 넬라 판타지아, 늑대, 백설기 등 할아버지가 만든 다른 인형 친구들과 비교해 자신이 조금 다르다는 것을 느끼며 시작된다. 자신의 다름에 서러워하는 피노키오에게 고양이 체셔는 푸른 요정을 만나보라고 조언하고, 피노키오는 소원을 이루기 위해 또 다른 마법의 마을로 용기 있는 모험을 떠난다. 이 극적인 여정을 통해 어린이 관객들에게 다름은 틀린 것이 아니라 특별한 것이라는 따뜻한 위로와 화합의 메시지를 전달할 예정이다.
이번 무대는 전 단원이 악보를 모두 외워 오직 서로의 숨소리와 선율에만 의지해 완벽한 화음을 빚어내는 한빛오케스트라만의 탁월한 음악성이 정점을 이룬다. 여기에 김춘범 연출, 김의석 작곡, 김종훈 음악감독의 세밀한 해석이 더해져 단순한 연주를 넘어선 깊이 있는 예술적 울림을 구현해냈다. 시각적 한계를 뛰어넘어 오로지 소리로 소통하는 예술가들의 모습 자체가 아이들에게는 그 어떤 교과서보다 강렬한 교육적 메시지가 될 것으로 보인다.
명노병 원장은 “전석 매진이라는 성원은 수준 높은 예술 교육에 대한 우리 교육 현장의 열망을 여실히 보여주는 것”이라며, “시각장애를 극복한 예술가들의 아름다운 선율이 우리 아이들에게 장애에 대한 편견을 허물고, 저마다의 특별함을 사랑하는 소중한 계기가 되길 바란다”고 밝혔다.
예술은 장벽을 허무는 가장 강력한 도구다. 한빛예술단이 전하는 피노키오의 모험은 아이들에게 장애를 동정의 대상이 아닌 예술적 주체로 인식하게 하는 중대한 전환점이 될 것이다. 이번 공연이 보여준 뜨거운 열기가 일회성 행사에 그치지 않고 우리 사회의 다양성을 존중하는 성숙한 문화 시민을 길러내는 지속적인 동력이 되기를 기대한다.

[Cheonan/CTN] Reporter Kang Hyun-su = The beautiful melodies created by artists who have overcome visual impairments will offer children in Cheonan a new perspective on 'difference' and a touching sense of emotion.
The Chungcheongnam-do Students Education and Culture Center will present the orchestral play "A Slightly Special Pinocchio" on its grand stage for two days, from May 18 to 19, targeting kindergarteners and lower-grade elementary school students in the province. As part of the 2026 "Heart-Touching Masterpiece Planning Performance" series, this is a high-quality children's musical drama presented by the Hanbit Arts Group, the nation's only ensemble composed entirely of visually impaired musicians. Notably, the performance proved the explosive interest of the local educational field, with all 934 seats sold out for both days as soon as reservations opened.
The story begins with Pinocchio, who lives in a magical village, feeling that he is slightly different from other doll friends created by his grandfather, such as Nella Fantasia, Wolf, and Baekseolgi. To Pinocchio, who is sorrowful over his difference, Cheshire the Cat advises him to meet the Blue Fairy, leading Pinocchio to embark on a courageous adventure to another magical village to fulfill his wish. Through this dramatic journey, the play intends to deliver a warm message of comfort and harmony to the young audience, teaching them that being different is not 'wrong' but 'special.'
This stage marks the pinnacle of the Hanbit Orchestra's outstanding musicality, where all members memorize their scores and rely solely on each other's breathing and melodies to create perfect harmony. Added to this is the detailed interpretation of Director Kim Chun-beom, Composer Kim Ui-seok, and Music Director Kim Jong-hun, creating a profound artistic resonance that goes beyond simple performance. The sight of artists communicating only through sound, transcending visual limitations, is expected to be a more powerful educational message for children than any textbook.
Director Myeong No-byeong stated, "The sell-out of all seats clearly demonstrates our educational field's yearning for high-quality arts education. I hope that the beautiful melodies of artists who have overcome visual impairment will break prejudices against disabilities and serve as a precious opportunity for our children to love their own individual uniqueness."
Art is the most powerful tool for breaking down barriers. Pinocchio's adventure, as told by the Hanbit Arts Group, will be a significant turning point in making children perceive disabilities not as objects of sympathy but as artistic subjects.
