오성환 당진시장 후보가 '성장의 결실이 시민의 일상으로 흐르는 당진'을 목표로 한 「삶의 완성: 당진 1-5-100 마스터플랜」의 세 번째 핵심 축인 '미래혁신 농축수산업' 공약을 전격 발표했다.
이번 공약은 고령화와 기후 위기라는 농촌의 고질적인 문제를 첨단 기술과 에너지 혁신으로 정면 돌파하겠다는 오 후보의 강력한 의지가 담겨 있어 지역 농어민들의 이목이 쏠리고 있다.

특히 "LNG 냉열을 활용한 냉동·냉장 시설을 구축해 물류 및 보관 비용을 획기적으로 절감하겠다"는 계획은 생산부터 유통까지 이어지는 고부가가치 수산업 생태계 조성의 핵심이 될 전망이다.
오 후보는 당진의 산업적 특성을 농업과 결합한 '순환형 에너지 모델'을 제시했다.
36만 평 스마트팜 단지에 철강 폐열을 재활용할 경우, 농가 연료비를 약 67% 절감할 수 있다는 계산이다.
이는 농가 경영 부담을 덜어주는 동시에 당진을 친환경·고효율 스마트 농업의 메카로 만들겠다는 오 후보의 복안이다.
