확대 충청남도교육청평생교육원이 지난 15일 ‘2026년 지역사회 연계 독서 인문 체험 프로그램’을 진행하고 있다.

[교육/CTN]강현수 기자 = 단순한 도서 구입 공간을 넘어 지역 문화의 사랑방 역할을 하는 동네 독립서점들이 시민들을 위한 깊이 있는 인문학 배움터로 변신했다.

충청남도교육청평생교육원은 지난 15일 천안 지역 독립서점 3곳(책방악어새, 일상서재, 마르스북 스토어)에서 수강생들을 대상으로 ‘2026년 지역사회 연계 독서 인문 체험 프로그램’을 개최했다고 밝혔다. 이번 행사는 독립서점 고유의 매력을 활용해 책과 예술이 결합된 입체적인 독서 경험을 제공하기 위해 마련됐다.

체험 활동은 각 서점의 공간적 특색에 맞춰 두 가지 테마로 진행돼 참가자들의 눈길을 끌었다. ‘책방지기’가 제안한 해시태그로 책을 고르고 그 속에서 다섯 문장을 엮어 자신만의 시를 창작하는 ‘문장으로 짓는 글밭’ 프로그램은 책방악어새와 일상서재에서 열려 문학적 감성을 자극했다. 충청남도 인증 지역서점이자 24시간 무인으로 운영되는 마르스북 스토어에서는 ‘이미지로 담는 글밭’이 진행됐다. 참가자들은 독특한 무인 공간을 탐색하며 직접 촬영한 사진을 즉석에서 인쇄한 뒤, 사진 뒷면에 시를 기록하는 시각 예술과 문학의 융합 과정을 체험했다.

최병묵 충청남도교육청평생교육원 원장은 “지역사회의 소중한 자산인 독립서점을 배움의 터전으로 삼아 시민들이 인문학을 한층 더 친숙하게 느끼는 계기가 되었기를 바란다”며 “앞으로도 일상 속에 독서 문화가 깊이 정착할 수 있도록 지역사회 주체들과 긴밀한 협력 체계를 이어가겠다”고 전했다.

지역 서점의 정취와 창작의 기쁨을 결합한 이번 시도는 공공기관과 민간 문화 공간이 상생하는 모범적인 교육 모델을 제시했다는 평을 받는다. 골목길 책방에서 피어난 시민들의 문학적 온기가 천안의 인문학적 저변을 넓히는 소중한 밑거름이 될 것으로 기대된다.

The Chungcheongnam-do Education Office Lifelong Education Center announced that it held the '2026 Community-Linked Reading Humanities Experience Program' on the 15th for its students at three independent bookstores in Cheonan: Bookshop Agoseo, Ilsang Seojae, and Mars Book Store. This event was designed to leverage the unique charm of independent bookstores to provide a multi-dimensional reading experience combining books and art.

The hands-on activities caught the attention of participants by being operated under two themes tailored to the spatial characteristics of each bookstore. The "Field of Words Built with Sentences" program, where participants selected books based on hashtags proposed by the bookstore keepers and wove five sentences to create their own poems, was held at Bookshop Agoseo and Ilsang Seojae, stimulating literary sensibilities. Meanwhile, the "Field of Words Captured in Images" took place at Mars Book Store, a certified local bookstore in Chungcheongnam-do that operates 24 hours unattended. Participants explored the unique unmanned space, printed photos they took on the spot, and recorded poems on the back of the photos, experiencing a fusion of visual art and literature.

Choi Byeong-muk, Director of the Chungcheongnam-do Education Office Lifelong Education Center, stated, "I hope this serves as an opportunity for citizens to feel closer to the humanities by utilizing independent bookstores, which are precious assets of the local community, as grounds for learning." He added, "We will continue to maintain a close cooperation system with community entities to deeply establish a reading culture in daily life."

This attempt, which combined the atmosphere of local bookstores with the joy of creation, is evaluated as presenting an exemplary educational model where public institutions and private cultural spaces coexist. The literary warmth blooming from alleyway bookstores is expected to serve as a valuable foundation for expanding the humanities base in Cheonan.
