모집 분야는 전국춤경연대회와 거리댄스 퍼레이드를 포함한 총 6개 부문이다. 전국춤경연대회는 일반부, 청소년부, 흥타령부로 세분화해 전 연령층이 무대 위에서 자신의 끼를 발산할 수 있도록 문호를 개방했다. 부대 경연으로는 전국 대학생들의 젊은 열기가 기대되는 전국대학 무용경연대회와 전국대학 치어리딩 대회가 마련되어 축제에 활력을 더할 전망이다.
축제의 백미로 꼽히는 거리댄스 퍼레이드는 도심 한복판을 화려한 퍼포먼스로 가득 채우며 시민들과 관광객들에게 잊지 못할 흥을 선사할 것으로 보인다. 재단은 참가자들의 사기 진작을 위해 시상 규모도 대폭 확보했다. 전국춤경연대회 우수 30팀에게 8,000만 원을, 거리댄스 퍼레이드 우수 10팀에게는 4,200만 원의 상금을 수여해 참가팀들의 치열한 경합이 예상된다.
경연 참여를 원하는 팀은 오는 8월 30일까지 천안흥타령춤축제 2026 공식 누리집을 통해 신청할 수 있다. 안동순 천안문화재단 대표이사는 “이번 축제는 세대와 장르를 아우르는 소통의 장이 될 것”이라며 “대한민국을 대표하는 춤꾼들의 많은 관심과 적극적인 참여를 기다린다”고 밝혔다.
천안흥타령춤축제는 독창적이고 차별화된 콘텐츠를 통해 매년 국내외 관광객의 찬사를 받으며 명실상부한 글로벌 축제로 정착했다. 올해 축제는 오는 10월 1일부터 5일까지 천안시 일원에서 개최될 예정이며, 이번 참가자 모집은 천안의 가을을 전 세계의 흥으로 물들이는 거대한 서막이 될 것으로 확신한다.

[Cheonan/CTN] Reporter Kang Hyun-su = The Cheonan Cultural Foundation has begun searching for the protagonists who will light up the stage of the "Cheonan Heungtaryeong Dance Festival 2026," an event set to make the world dance this October. On May 13, the foundation officially announced the recruitment of participating teams for the dance competitions, the core of the festival, signaling a leap forward as a global festival.
The recruitment categories consist of a total of six sectors, including the National Dance Competition and the Street Dance Parade. The National Dance Competition is subdivided into General, Youth, and Heungtaryeong divisions, opening its doors for all age groups to showcase their talents on stage. As side competitions, the National University Dance Competition and the National University Cheerleading Competition are prepared, expected to infuse the festival with the youthful energy of college students from across the country.
The Street Dance Parade, considered the highlight of the festival, is expected to fill the heart of the city with colorful performances and provide unforgettable excitement to citizens and tourists. The foundation has secured a significant prize scale to boost the morale of participants. It plans to award 80 million KRW to 30 outstanding teams in the National Dance Competition and 42 million KRW to 10 outstanding teams in the Street Dance Parade, leading to fierce competition among participating teams.
Teams wishing to participate can apply through the official website of the Cheonan Heungtaryeong Dance Festival 2026 until August 30. An Dong-sun, CEO of the Cheonan Cultural Foundation, stated, "This festival will be a venue for communication that encompasses generations and genres," and added, "We look forward to much interest and active participation from the representative dancers of Korea."
The Cheonan Heungtaryeong Dance Festival has established itself as a truly global festival, receiving praise from domestic and international tourists every year through original and differentiated content. This year's festival is scheduled to be held throughout Cheonan from October 1 to 5, and this recruitment of participants is certain to be a grand prelude to dyeing Cheonan's autumn with excitement from around the world.
