천안과학산업진흥원은 지난 13일 과학기술정보통신부의 디지털 융합 K-ESG 혁신 표준화 포럼사업 개회총회를 개최하고 본격적인 사업 추진의 신호탄을 쐈다. 이번 총회는 산·학·연·관 전문가들이 결집해 천안시 8대 전략산업의 지속가능한 성장을 도모하고 산업 현장에서 즉각 활용 가능한 실효성 있는 대응 체계를 구축하기 위해 마련됐다.
올해 포럼은 최신 인공지능(AI) 기술을 적극 융합해 전년도 에너지 분야에 국한됐던 표준을 지역 전략산업 전반으로 확대하는 데 주력한다. 단순한 이론 정립을 넘어 산업 현장의 요구를 반영한 실증 기반의 표준 개발과 정책 제안 활동을 단계적으로 추진함으로써 실질적인 산업 경쟁력을 확보하겠다는 구상이다.
진흥원 관계자는 “디지털 융합 K-ESG 혁신 표준화 포럼은 지역 산업과 기업이 ESG라는 거대한 환경 변화에 선제적으로 대응할 수 있는 강력한 기반이 될 것”이라며 “현장 중심의 표준 개발과 정책 연계를 통해 천안의 신산업 경쟁력을 세계적 수준으로 강화해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.
이번 포럼 가동은 천안이 단순한 제조 거점을 넘어 디지털 기반의 미래 산업 표준을 선도하는 지능형 도시로 진화하는 결정적인 전환점이 될 것으로 기대를 모은다.

[Cheonan/CTN] Reporter Kang Hyun-su = Cheonan City has officially begun innovative standardization work incorporating digital technology to preemptively respond to the ESG management environment, a key topic for future industries.
The Cheonan Science and Industry Promotion Agency (CSPIA) held the opening general assembly of the Ministry of Science and ICT's "Digital Convergence K-ESG Innovation Standardization Forum" on the 13th, signaling the start of the project. This assembly brought together experts from industry, academia, research, and government to promote the sustainable growth of Cheonan's eight strategic industries and to build an effective response system that can be used immediately in industrial fields.
This year's forum will focus on expanding standards that were limited to the energy sector last year to include all regional strategic industries by actively integrating the latest artificial intelligence (AI) technology. Beyond simple theoretical establishment, the plan is to secure practical industrial competitiveness by phased development of evidence-based standards and policy proposals that reflect the needs of industrial sites.
An official from the CSPIA stated, "The Digital Convergence K-ESG Innovation Standardization Forum will be a strong foundation for regional industries and companies to preemptively respond to the massive environmental changes of ESG," and added, "We will strengthen the competitiveness of Cheonan's new industries to a global level through field-centered standard development and policy linkage".
The launch of this forum is expected to be a decisive turning point for Cheonan to evolve beyond a simple manufacturing hub into an intelligent city that leads future industrial standards based on digital technology.
