김 후보는 28일, 당진시민 모두에게 1인당 30만 원씩 지급하는 ‘당진경제회복지원금’ 신설 공약을 전격 발표했다.
이날 김 후보는 "미-이란 전쟁 여파로 촉발된 유가 급등과 가파른 물가 상승이 당진 시민들의 일상을 무너뜨리고 있다"며 "장바구니 물가에 우는 주부들, 출퇴근 기름값을 걱정하는 직장인, 전기요금 고지서 앞에서 한숨짓는 어르신들의 고통을 더 이상 외면할 수 없다"고 공약 발표 배경을 설명했다.

지급 방식에 대해서는 실질적인 효과를 거둘 수 있도록 세심하게 설계하겠다는 입장이다. 김 후보는 "당진경제회복지원금은 지역화폐(지속가능한 당진사랑상품권 등) 방식을 적극 도입할 것"이라며 "지급된 자금이 역외로 유출되지 않고, 당진의 골목상권과 전통시장으로 고스란히 흘러 들어가 경제 모세혈관을 살리도록 하겠다"고 강조했다.

Just as President Lee Jae-myung turned crisis into opportunity and restored the economy in Gyeonggi Province, I will establish a livelihood-centered local government that moves most dynamically and proactively for the people once elected as Mayor of Dangjin."
Regarding the method of distribution, Kim stated that it would be carefully designed to ensure practical economic results. "The Dangjin Economic Recovery Support will actively adopt a local currency method," Kim highlighted. "This will ensure that the distributed funds do not leak outside the city but instead flow directly into Dangjin’s neighborhood shops and traditional markets, reviving the economic capillaries of our community."
