시는 직장운동경기부 좌식배구팀이 지난 16일부터 17일까지 양일간 열린 제32회 대구광역시장기 전국좌식배구선수권대회에서 압도적인 실력으로 우승을 차지하며 전국대회 10연패라는 위대한 금금탑을 쌓아 올렸다고 지난 19일 밝혔다. 이번 대회에서 천안시청 좌식배구팀은 예선 첫 경기부터 최종 결승전에 이르기까지 모든 상대 팀을 압도하며 단 한 세트도 허용하지 않는 완벽한 무실 세트 우승을 기록해 전국 적수가 없음을 확실하게 각인시켰다.

The city announced on the 19th that its sitting volleyball team captured the championship at the 32nd Daegu Metropolitan City Mayor's Cup National Sitting Volleyball Championship held for two days from May 16 to 17, building a monumental achievement of 10 consecutive national titles with overwhelming skill. In this tournament, the Cheonan City Hall sitting volleyball team dominated all opponents from the first preliminary match to the final round, recording a perfect no-set-loss victory without conceding a single set, clearly carving out that there are no rivals nationwide.
Along with the team's historic record securement, individual award honors followed. Player Park Yeon-jae of Cheonan City Hall, who led the team's undefeated run by displaying dazzling performances in both offense and defense throughout the competition, was honored with the tournament's highest accolade, the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award.
